Gymnastics has always been our favorite sport to watch during the Summer Olympics. As music fans, you can only imagine how excited we were to watch this Olympic sport and listen to wistful music play in the background.

So, I think it is safe to say the Oxford-based group, Jonquil, captivated us with their new video for the track, “Get Up,” off of their debut EP, One Hundred Suns. “Get Up” has such a fanciful pop sound that it is hard to believe you are watching competitive sports footage from the Tokyo Olympiad in 1965. Along with the gymnasts, drum lines and long distance runners are also featured in the video. The graphics and slow motion effects whimsically whisk you away and make you forget that there is losing in the Olympics.

Check out the video below and if you feel this tune from Jonquil to be as quaint and satisfying as we do, we suggest you purchase their EP, One Hundred Suns, which is available now on Dovecote Records!
