The Reaping has taken place in District 1 and the luxury-making region of Panem has its tributes; Leven Rambin and Jack Quaid, son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, join the cast of The Hunger Games as Glimmer and Marvel, respectively.

While not as ritzy as the Capitol, District 1 is one of the better-off areas of Panem. Not only are they known for making lavish items for the Capitol, but Hunger Games victors, too. In fact, District 1 is known for churning out careers, teens that actually train to one day become a tribute. The District 1 duo is usually the competition favorites.

So, are Rambin and Quaid right for the roles? To start, Rambin certainly looks the part. In the book, Katniss describes her as having “flowing blond hair, emerald green eyes, her body tall and lush.” That’s certainly a check in the looks department, but what about talent? Her claim to fame is her six-year stint on All My Children and she’s also appeared on One Tree Hill, CSI: Miami, Wizards of Waverly Place, Scoundrels and more. Having never seen her performances, it’s impossible for me to judge what she’s capable of, but the fact that she’s seemingly in demand has to mean something, right?

As for Quaid, we’ve literally got nothing to go on, as he doesn’t even have an IMDb page. Let’s just hope he’s got a little mom and dad in him. There aren’t even any pictures of the kid on the Internet save for the one posted on the film’s Facebook page. Well, of the two, Glimmer is the more prominent part. Both do take center stage in key scenes of the story, but we don’t even hear Marvel’s name until the second book in the three-book series.

Who’ll join the cast next? My money’s on District 2 tributes, Cato and Clove. Stay tuned!
