Are you one of the many people who hate “Jersey Shore” (or hate to admit that you like “Jersey Shore”)? Well, Santino Fontana and David Furr, who portray Algernon Moncrieff and John Worthing, respectively, in the Broadway revival of “The Importance of Being Earnest”, have created a five-part web series devoted to the one-liners from “Jersey Shore” called “Jersey Shore gone Wilde”, with the actors saying the lines in character. Even if you are a fan of “Jersey Shore”, you’ll like this web series, as it adds another level of hilarity to hear the phrases uttered in posh British accents from guys in 19th century clothing designed by “Earnest” costume designer Desmond Heeley. The series was shot in the lobby of the American Airlines Theater, where the play–which, due to its extreme popularity, has been extended–is performed.

The entire web series can be found on Playbill.com or below this story.

“The Importance of Being Earnest” is a comedy written by Oscar Wilde that tells the story of a two friends who use the pseudonym “Ernest” in order to gallivant. This, of course, creates mishaps and misunderstandings.
