CinemaBlend has some news via Coming Soon that, to quote the site,”confirms” Johnny Depp will have a cameo spot in the upcoming “21 Jump Street” film.
Jonah Hill, the writer of the film as well as one of the film’s stars, has been one of the people gunning for Depp to show up in the film. He’s said that he’s written a “really funny” cameo for Depp and was hoping he would be able to do it. Perhaps it will be something like what Depp said he wanted to do when asked about the film last year: he said he’d want to do a cutaway scene that would involve him “somewhere hoarding jars of peanut butter and shaking in my underpants.” Crazy times.

The film, starring Hill, Channing Tatum, Dave Franco (yes, the brother of James Franco), Brie Larson, Ice Cube, Rob Riggle, and Jake M. Johnson, follows several baby-faced cops who act as high school students to weed out crime. The film will be out in March 16, 2012.
