Grease becomes a cartoon! Well, sort of. VIZ Media, LLC has announced a new series that will expand its catalog of shoja manga titles with the launch of “AI ORE!” on May 3rd. The new series, created by Mayu Shinjo, will be published under the Shojo Beat imprint with a rating of ‘T+’ for Older Teens and will carry an MSRP of $12.99 U.S./$14.99 CAN.
Now that we are done discussing business, let’s move on to the rock n’ roll premise of “AI ORE!” Mizuki is the female “prince” of her all-girls school and the lead guitarist in an all-girl rock band. Akira is the male “princess” of his all-boys school and wants to join her band. Along with having music in common, Mizuki and Akira also have romantic sparks between each other.
Where would love be without music? Endlessly floating down a stream. So, thank you “AI ORE!” for grabbing it and bringing it right back to where it belongs, alongside music.
