Matt Damon is reportedly in negotiations to make his directorial debut with the highly sought after film ‘Father Daughter Time: A Tale of Armed Robbery and Eskimo Kisses,’ Deadline is reporting. The news comes after numerous studios, including Paramount and Fox, were bidding on the script, which was written by Matthew Aldrich. Warner Bros. ultimately won the distribution rights for the movie.

The high bidding war among the studios drew attention as many distributors don’t want to pick up a film that doesn’t already have a confirmed director attached to it. But once Aldrich finished the script and gave it to his manager and agents, they loved it and started shopping it to the studios.

Even with the early hype surrounding ‘Father Daughter Time,’ not many details about its storyline have been released. But Damon will reportedly play a father who goes on a crime spree across three states with his daughter. Aldrich has describe the movie as a small, personal and dark film about a father and daughter.

Damon will also reportedly brought his WB-based company Pearl Street on board to produce ‘Father Daughter Time.’ His Pearl Street partners Ben Affleck, Chris Moore and Drew Vinton are also expected to produce the film.
