Just coming off a huge $66 million opening weekend, “Thor” star Chris Hemsworth is in talks to join Kristen Stewart (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1) in Universal’s “Snow White and The Huntsman”.

The angle of this rendition of “Snow White” will emphasize the Huntsman in the famous story by The Brothers Grimm. The Huntsman is Snow White’s protector. Chris Hemsworth would be playing the Huntsman, which had its flirtations with other strong leading males like Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman and Joel Edgerton. If Hemsworth could play it like he played Thor, with a large and bruiting screen presence, then I can see no reason why he wouldn’t be great for this role.

“Snow White and The Huntsman” will feature Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen and Sam Claflin as the Prince. It would also be directed by Rupert Sanders and released in 2012, which will be one of two Snow White movies. The other one called “The Brothers Grimm: Snow White”, which will be directed by filmmaker Tarsem and will feature Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen, Lily Collins as Snow White and “The Social Network’s” Armie Hammer as the Prince. Who would have guessed, 2012: the year of Snow White.
