It is finally official! The pre-production for the next season of BBC’s hit show “Sherlock” is finally happening! The evidence stems from some tweets co-writer and co-creator Mark Gatiss wrote on his Twitter account.

The first tweet from Gatiss read, “Production meeting done now #Sherlock read-through tomorrow! Looking forward to the 221b reunion.”

The second tweet read, “The best and the wisest men whom I have ever known. Sort of. #Sherlock”. The men he was referring to are the actors who play John and Sherlock, Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch. There was also a picture that went along with the tweet, showing the two actors having fun while doing the read-through of Season Two’s scripts. (If you’re someone heavy in the Sherlock fandom, save the Twitpic now!)

“Sherlock” is the retelling of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Victorian-era sleuth and his friend, Dr. John Watson, except this time, the stories have been transported to the 21st century.

What do you think about this news? If you’re a fan of “Sherlock”, what do you hope to see in the next season? How do you think that cliffhanger will get resolved? Make your predictions and comments on the series in the comments section below.
