It’s one thing to sit in the comfort of your own home and check out your favorite movie characters gallivanting around their hometowns, but how about checking out some of those locales for yourself? Okay, clearly you can’t fly across the country to get a firsthand look at some of those iconic spots of cinematic history, but that’s what The AV Club’s new series “Pop Pilgrims” is here to do for you.

The show’s host, Brian Berrebbi, hits the road to give us a look at some famous on-screen locations in their new modern surroundings. First stop on Berrebbi’s trip was Die Hard‘s Nakatomi Plaza, followed by the United Methodist Church from The Graduate and Wayne’s World, Pat & Lorraine’s Coffee Shop from Reservoir Dogs and then, my personal favorite, Scotty’s apartment from Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo.

The Vertigo piece is part of city #2 on the series’ 12-city itinerary. With the help of former Cinematical writer, Jeffrey Anderson, the Pop Pilgrims team gives us a taste of what 900 Lombard Street in San Francisco, California, the address Jimmy Stewart’s character, Scotty, called home, looks like today. See the piece for yourself below and be sure to check the official Pop Pilgrims page to find out where Brian and his crew wind up next.
