We understand this week is all about Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”, but you ought to break free from her enthralling music and take a listen to a band, who has just as much musical talent, if not more, as the Queen of Pop.

We give you Celldweller. Step aside “Little Monsters” and make way for the electronic and rock infused tunes of Klayton. Fortunately, he is not your ordinary artist, who can hardly say he or she did more on his or her album besides sing. Klayton is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter, programmer and re-mixer. So, he is a bit more involved in music, to say the least.

Celldweller released his debut self-titled album in 2003 via Esion Media/Position Music and the album went far from unnoticed. Celldweller climbed to 17th on the Billboard Internet Sales Chart and also collected seven awards at the 2004 Just Plain Folks Music Awards. Along with gaining a considerable amount of Internet success, Celldweller also became popular in film, T.V. and video games, such as in campaigns for titles like “Spider Man 2” and “Superman Returns” and in video games, like “Crack Down” and “Need For Speed: Most Wanted.” You might not have officially heard of Celldweller until today, but the band is not shy from success.

Celldweller’s most recent release, Wish Upon A Black Star, has been released in digital chapters of two songs each and will total five chapters in length. Quite an innovative way to drop an album, right? Well, Klayton keeps the creativity flowing with the album’s artwork. Each of the chapter’s artwork contains a portion of the final album artwork that will be pieced together to create a five-panel image.

Don’t feel so out of the loop. because Klayton’s music is new to us as well, but Celldweller makes you feel at ease with the band’s pioneering sound even if you are just a newbie. Normally, electronic music is situated beside pop music, often causing the two genres to blend into each other. This blur of musical categories often hurts the sections credibility as being labeled as an individual genre. Klayton is able to distract us from this merge by introducing eletronica to a new and more suitable partner, rock music. This relationship is beneficial to both parties due to Klayton’s ability to pleasantly express the two sounds together in a track without sacrificing their distinct sounds. It is much easier said than it is done.

As you always should, take our advice and listen to the tunes of Celldweller. Klayton will inspire you to step outside the box in your own daily endeavors and take the route less heard of.
