According to CinemaBlend, Warner Brothers is gearing up to make a sequel to the CGI-live action film “Yogi Bear”.
According to the article, the studio has hired Jeffrey Ventimilia and Joshua Sternin to write the script for “Yogi Bear 2”.
I’m sure a lot of you readers are probably shaking your head at this, sighing. I know what you’re going through. But, there’s a reason WB is making this movie, and it’s because the last “Yogi Bear” film did so well at the box office; “Yogi Bear” ended up grossing $100, 246,011 domestically and $101,338,130 internationally, even though the critics panned the film on Rotten Tomatoes and gave it a 13% (and even the audience, who generally scores better with movies on Rotten Tomatoes, only gave the film a little better score of 38%)
The one thing I will say is that if you liked the first one for sheer nostalgic factor, maybe the sequel will hold the same magic for you. In any event, you’ll be able to hear Justin Timberlake do his uncanny Boo-Boo impression.
What do you think? Are you interested in seeing “Yogi Bear 2” when it hits theaters? Do you think Warner Brothers should stop while they’re ahead with “Yogi”? Sound off below.
They were lucky with the first one. ousey script and sub-par performances with the exception of Justin Timberlake as Boo-boo. I hope for the sequel that Ackroyd does study Daws Buttler more as his voice in the first one was terrible.
I think it will be great. The first picture was amazing and true to the classic YB shows. Yogi 2 will be much better like Yogi 1.
