According to The Hollywood Reporter, Al Pacino has signed on to join the cast of the biopic “Gotti: Three Generations”. Pacino will play Neil Dellacroce, the Gambino crime family underboss and mentor and associate to John Gotti, Sr.

Pacino is possibly most well known for his role in “The Godfather” series as Michael Corleone, the son of crime boss Don Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando) and as Carlito “Charlie” Brigante in “Carlito’s Way”.

More news about “Gotti” includes Barry Levinson stepping in to direct the film. According to the article, this will be a reunion of sorts for Levinson and Pacino, the two having worked together on the HBO telefilm “You Don’t Know Jack”.

The film currently stars John Travolta as John Gotti, Sr. Travolta’s family plays a big part in this film; Travolta’s actual wife Kelly Preston will play Sr.’s wife Victoria, and Angel Gotti, Sr. and Victoria’s daughter, will be played by Travolta and Preston’s daughter Ella Bleu Travolta. Also in the film are Joe Pesci as Sr.’s associate Angelo Ruggiero and Lindsay Lohan as John Gotti Jr,’s wife Kim Gotti. John Gotti, Jr, and his sister Victoria have yet to be cast.
