“Fear Factor” was one of my favorite shows back in the late ’90s-early ’00s, and it was one of the precursors to the huge reality show craze that’s still (in some cases, sadly) going on today.

But it would seem that reality television has come back full circle to when it was awesome; “Fear Factor” has finally returned to NBC!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC and Endemol are bringing the show back to television. The show will be updated; the host of the reboot has not yet been named, but Endemol North America Chairman David Goldberg has said that former host Joe Rogan is “high on the list”, according to Entertainment Weekly.

While the original show, which was based on Dutch show “Now or Neverland”, was intense already, what with the scary action stunts and the infamous gross-out section where people had to eat creepy bugs or centuries-old eggs, will be rebooted to have bigger, better, and scarier stunts. Of course, the gross-out section will be a part of the reboot. “That stuff still gets people talking and we would be crazy not to include that,” executive producer Matt Kunitz said.
