At the Spike Guys’ Choice Awards, Mark Whalberg won the Guy Movie of the Year Award. During his acceptance speech, Whalberg gave some hints as to what’s coming down the pike for “The Fighter 2”. He also poked fun at Mickey Ward, whom Whalberg portrayed in the first “Fighter”, and Dicky Eklund.

“We left out the Arturo/Gotti fights for a reason, cause that’s for ‘Fighter 2′” said Whalberg, the actual Eklund/Ward family behind him. “We’re not gonna do ‘Fighter 4’, ‘5’, ‘6’, ‘7’ and ‘8’, but we’re going to do ‘2’, we’re going to do the Ward/Gotti trilogy.”

You can view the video below, and you can see his entire acceptance speech when the awards show airs June 10 at 9/8c on Spike.

The first movie, “The Fighter”, followed the story of “Irish” Mickey Ward who was trained by his brother and strove to go pro.

The Guys’ Choice celebrates all things guys love. Some of the people to be honored are Jim Carrey, Sean Penn and the cast of “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”, Keith Richard, Jon Jones, Jennifer Anniston, and America’s troops. Presenters and stars in attendance include Cameron Diaz, Stacy Keibler, Samuel L. Jackson, Aziz Ansari, Chris Evans, Jon Favreau and Harrison Ford, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Dwayne Johnson, and more.
