This bit of news can either be taken as sad news or the best news since the announcement of the reboot of the “Batman” series: director Michael Bay and star Shia LeBeouf are announcing that “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” is the last of the “Transformers” films.

According to CinemaBlend via MTV, LeBeouf says point-blank, “I’m not coming back to do another one.” He goes on to say, “I don’t think Mike will either. It[“Transformers”] still is a hot property, especially coming out of the third one. So I imagine they’ll reboot it with someone else.” If Paramount does decide to make a rebooted franchise, LeBeouf said he’d be happy to go see it and also called “Dark of the Moon” their best movie out of the three.

If there is a rebooted version of “Transformers”, I would just like for the films to focus solely on the robot aliens instead of people and robots. The film’s too small for there to be two points of view. And besides, the cartoons only featured robots, and people both loved and identified with the characters. Why can’t the same happen in a film? But I would hope there’s another show that needs rebooting; I’m a bit “Transformer”-ed out.

What do you think, though? Are you ready to see some more “Transformers”? What director would you like to see take on the robots? (how about “Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘Transformers'”?) Sound off below.
