Liam Hemsworth, star of “The Hunger Games”, “The Last Song”, and brother to “Thor” (Chris Hemsworth) is set to star in the film “AWOL”, according to Deadline.

The indie film is a Vietnam-era romance/drama film based on a true story; the film’s setting is the University of Michigan during anti-Vietnam protests. The film will have Hemsworth play one of the lead roles. In negotiations to star alongside Hemsworth are Teresa Palmer, Austin Stowell, Aimee Teegarden, Chris Lowell, and Max Adler. The film will be directed by Danny Mooney in his directorial debut.

As stated above, Hemsworth is currently starring in “The Hunger Games” alongside Jennifer Lawrence. In the film adaptation of the popular book, Hemsworth plays Gale Hawthorne, one of Katniss’ (Lawrence) love interests. Hemsworth will also star in “Arabian Nights” as Ali Baba, something we may have to keep our eyes open for in terms of Hollywood performing yet another “racebending” trick.

“AWOL” will start shooting on location in Michigan this summer. But until we learn more about it, what are your thoughts on this film? How do you feel about Hemsworth being cast in the film? What do you make of the potential casting choices listed above? Make sure to leave your thoughts and ponderings about “AWOL”, “The Hunger Games”, and Hemsworth in the comments section below.
