The movie hasn’t premiered in America yet, but the critics (mostly those on the other side of the world) are already chewing out “Transformers: Dark of the Moon,” the last of the “Transformers” films (for right now, anyway).

The film may have a fresh rating of 67% on Rotten Tomatoes now, but it looks likes “Transformers” is teetering on going the “Cars 2” route of having a good critical build-up, only to be let down as more reviews come in. Here’s what some of the critics have to say about the film:

“Admittedly better than its predecessor, Michael Bay still hasn’t learnt that impressive action sequences don’t make up for woeful acting and no character development.”–Anthony O’Connor, FILMINK (Australia)

“…And yea, so it is that Transformers: Dark Of The Moon is miles better than Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, but still falls miles short of the daft charm that made Transformers such fun.

In fact, fun doesn’t feature much at all in Dark Of The Moon: Bay had promised that the second sequel would be “darker … more emotional”, and for the most part he’s succeeded. If, that is, you are prepared to believe – as I do – that giant robots can inspire an emotional response, because the humans give you jack shit.”–Clem Bastow, The Vine

“The latest film in the Transformers franchise starts promisingly with an alternative history/conspiracy plot about the Space Race and the 1969 NASA moon landing. What unravels is then a familiarly convoluted and busy spectacle film about yet another clash between the rival robot alien Transformers involving their human allies, with Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) once more coming to the rescue on the side of the Autobots.”–Thomas Caldwell, Cinema Autopsy

  1. I think the more the critics hate on TF3 the more the fans will go and see it, I remember all the hate by the critics on Revenge of the Fallen and I swear all that hate did was galvanize the fanbase into seeing Revenge multiple times. It was the fans way of giving the critics the middle finger, especially Ebert.

  2. What a horrible movie. It’s so bad that one critic didn’t even bother to submit their review, they hated it so much. Lot of one star reviews are coming in.
