According to a report from Reg Hardware, Sony is currently working on a total visual redesign of PSN. The redesign will apparently make PSN more like Steam and Xbox Live. These changes would affect the PlayStation Store rather than the main XMB. An unnamed source told Reg Hardware that Sony is trying to de-clutter the service in favor of “an aesthetic layout with logically marked sections and rolodex lists”.

Some of the new features include a live search that shows more results with each character entered along and a database-like listings for both games and movies, showing details like developers or cast on the right side of the screen. Sony will also replace the blue background with an all black one and brighter colors highlighting content. Also a ‘Deal of the Week’ section will be added.
