Firefly actress Jewel Staite has landed a guest role in the forthcoming season 7 of CW’s Supernatural. Staite is expected to portray Amy (the adult version) in the episode entitled ‘The Girl Next Door’, set to air on October 7th. The Jensen Ackles directed episode hones in on Sam’s younger years. The brainy Winchester comes face to face with his old childhood friend, Amy, whose all grown up and (according to reports surrounding the episode) has a kid of her own. The reunion will cause a wave of flashbacks, making for an awesome sixty minute installment. Since we don’t get to see much of the Winchester’s in their younger years, ‘The Girl Next Door’ will be a must see for Supernatural fans as well as Jewel Staite followers.
Recently the actress, who played Kaylee Frye in Joss Whedon’s Firefly, has also been seen in Stargate: Atlantis as Dr. Jennifer Keller. It should be cool to see her grace the screen in the hit CW series. As previously reported , filming on season 7 with Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Jim Beaver, and Misha Collins, kicked off last week in Vancouver. The guys will also be at this year’s Comic Con, with a panel on Sunday 24th July. The series will make its debut on September 23rd.
