Seventh Heaven’s David Gallagher is headed back to his former home, The CW. Gallagher, who played Simon Camden on the series from 1996-2006, will be guest starring on The Vampire Diaries. The twenty-six year old actor will play a werewolf by the name of Ray Sutton, and is slated to make his debut in the first two episodes of the popular series. This latest casting news surrounding the New York native comes by way of The Hollywood Reporter. This should be interesting watching the ‘Super 8’ star, who just appeared in Spielberg’s blockbuster hit as Donny, share the screen with Vampire regulars Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. Gallagher’s character on the show is said (per Tv Line) to “have a grim run-in… with Klaus in Tennessee.” Who knows maybe he’ll grab a returning role, unless of course his run in is fatal!

Since leaving Seventh Heaven, Gallagher has been working steadily. Appearing in a string of Television roles, the child actor has been a guest star in the criminal drama Bones, Smallville, Without a Trace, CSI: Miami, The Deep End and more. Currently the Look Whose Talking performer is also set to show up in the movie Trophy Kids as the character Reid Davis. The movie has wrapped production and is due out this year. Meanwhile, Vampire Diaries is scheduled to make its return this fall on the CW September 15th 2011.
