CinemaBlend has some new “The Amazing Spider-Man” images from Entertainment Weekly, and I have to say that I’m impressed with how great the film looks just from the images.

In the pictures, we see Martin Sheen and Sally Field as Uncle Ben and Aunt May, Andrew Garfield as a super-powered Peter Parker jumping over a basketball player and choking a bully later on, Denis Leary as Captain Stacy fighting crime, and Rhys Ifans battling some water.

I used to be on the “Spider-Man” movie bandwagon until I was misled by “Spider-Man 3.” But seeing the images from the film has made me feel a lot better about potentially spending money on it. I feel like I’m going to get a good story out of it. Also great is that everyone looks their ages. I liked Toby Maguire’s Peter, but I could never really buy both him and Kirsten Dunst as high schoolers.

Get the latest Entertainment Weekly to see more stills from the film, and “The Amazing Spider-Man,” also starring Emma Stone, Irrfan Khan and Campbell Scott and directed by Marc Webb, will be in theaters July 3, 2012.
