Twilight fans are watching their precious commodity get dominated by Harry Potter. “Deathly Hallows: Part 2” is now the owner of the all-time opening day record on the domestic front with an amazing $92.1 million gross on Friday. Twilight: New Moon set the bar high two years ago with $72.7 million, whose same installment fell victim to the midnight opening record just 36 hours ago.

Warner Bros.’ wands now point to The Dark Knight – also their property – who in all likelihood will see its all-time domestic opening weekend mark ($158.4 million) fall to the Potter finale. At this pace, DH: 2 could end up grossing anywhere between $175-190 million for the weekend. The only element that could slow this Potter flick down is a mass power outage or a zombie apocalypse. Still not sure the latter would deter anyone.
