For anyone wondering when werewolves were going to get their day in the sun, that day is finally here. Anne Rice, the architect of the modern-day vampire, is about to give the “Interview with the Vampire” treatment to werewolves.

According to MTV Geek, Rice has opened up about her new set of books, “The Wolf Gift” at the San Diego Comic Con. In her interview with MTV, she talked about the plot of the book. “It’s about a young man who becomes a werewolf. It’s my take on what that experience is like for that young man, to experience that transformation and how it works in his life and how he copes with it,” she said. It sounds like a winner to me. You can watch the full interview below.

I have read quite a few of Rice’s books, and if anyone can bring some legitimacy to the idea of a werewolf that feels, she can. I mean, she’s the one “Twilight” has to thank for making vampires relatable in the first place. However, she also still made her vampires terrifying people to be around, unlike Edward Cullen. I’m sure her werewolf character will also retain his inherent scariness.

What do you think about this? Are you ready to see what Rice will do to the world of werewolves? Sound off below.
