Seeing how “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” is now out in theaters, it’d only be fitting to have a few posts about the franchise. And, since I’m such a huge “Apes” junkie, these articles will be a lot of fun for me. I do love me some apes.

I know the whole timeline of “Planet of the Apes” back to front, but for those who are a bit confused about what happens when and to whom it happens to, io9 has provided the uninitiated a timeline that tells the order in which the movies should be watched.

The timeline also provides a point of reference as to where “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” fits in. “Rise” is a reboot of the series, but is also a remake/re-imagining of “Conquest of the Planet of the Apes,” in which Caesar (who, in the original, is the son of Zira and Cornelius) rises up against his human captors.

You can check out the timeline at io9. After taking a gander at it, tell us what you think about it. Does it answer some of your “Apes” questions”? Does it make you want to revisit all of the films? Sound off below.
