With Universal moving ahead on ‘The Bourne Legacy’ without Matt Damon, casting on the upcoming action flick is rolling out slowly, and under top secret conditions.  In the latest news surrounding the movie, heads behind the project have signed on seasoned actor Stacy Keach.  But for what?  No one knows just yet.  Currently all major and minor details are being kept under lock and key.  According to The Wrap however, there is a small amount of details that the studio has shared.  Here’s what we know so far:

“The movie stars Jeremy Renner, who replaces Matt Damon in the franchise; Ed Norton; and Rachel Weisz. Tony Gilroy wrote the script and will direct. Frank Marshall is producing with Jeffrey Weiner and Ben Smith from Captivate Entertainment. Pat Crowley also will produce.  Universal’s co-chairman, Donna Langley, its co-president of production, Peter Cramer and its director of development, Anikah McLaren will oversee the project.”

With that being said, Stacy Keach joining Jeremy Renner, Ed Norton and Rachel Weisz, is a plus.  The actor, who has starred in a long list of movies and television shows, ‘American History X’ with Norton, and Prison Break,  only sweetens the pot. ‘Bourne Legacy’ is due out in theaters on August 3, 2012.
