With Summit Entertainment moving forward with its film adaptation of the young adult book series “Homelanders”, “Smallville” showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are currently in negotiations to make their directorial debut with the project, Collider is reporting. Screenwriter Miles Chapman is on board to pen the project, and Gough and Milar will also help him with the script.

Summit is planning on including a sci-fi element in the movie’s story. The books, which were written by Andrew Klavan, have a ‘Bourne Identity’-thriller element. The story follows Charlie West, a high school student who awakens tied to a chair next to blood-stained instruments. He has no recollection of why or who he got there, and after escaping, comes to discover that an entire year has passed. He sets out to find the truth as to why the authorities and terrorist organizations are following him.
