On Tuesday, August 16th, Breaking Benjamin will release their greatest hits album, “Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin”. The rock band, which consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Benjamin Burnley and drummer and percussionist, Chad Szeliga, have released four studio albums, since their formation in the late 90s. The time has come for the duo to compile some of the tracks off of “Saturate”, “We Are Not Alone”, “Phobia” and “Dear Agony” to form one cohesive album that represents their decade long career.

Compilations, like “Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin”, are pieces of musical history all wrapped up into a single CD. So, in our opinion, these albums will make a perfect gift that can pass on from one generation to another. We’ll make your present selection easier by giving away a deluxe edition copy of Breaking Benjamin’s greatest hits album, which has two discs that are full of unreleased and rarity tracks. We want you, Shockya readers, to tell us in an anecdote what Breaking Benjamin means to you. The short and sweet tale could be about the first time you saw the band in concert, the happy feeling you get when you listen to one of their tracks or the excitement you get when you watch one of their music videos. You get the point, right? We just want to know how the band has impacted you through the course of their career.

Since “Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin” drops in a few days, we want you to get your deluxe copy as soon as possible. So, you have until August 25th, to get us your endearing tales about the rock band. Remember to post your words in the comment section of this article and to e-mail your entry to freestuff@shockya.com.

  1. I became a fan of Breaking Benjamin after listening to their Phobia album at work on my ipod (with one ear bud on).  What Breaking Benjamin means to me is raw truth.  All their songs have deep purposes whether its straight forward like “Skin” or metaphorical like “Breath”.  Their music along with Benjamin Burnley’s alluring voice make it a perfect combination.  I love singing along to their songs, using my pen as an imaginary drum and of course screaming Fall! to the beginning of “I will not bow”.  I have yet to see them in concert, but a Deluxe version of their album, “Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin” will soothe my soul.
