“Spy Kids: All The Time in the World in 4D” is not only the next entry in Robert Rodriguez’s “Spy Kids” saga, but also the first movie of the 21st century to bring back the kitschy “Smell-O-Vision” tactic. The kitsch doesn’t seem to have worked, since the film has been rated really rotten on Rotten Tomatoes, specifically, 22%.

The audience gave the film a 64% fresh, but the critics felt that the film is both garishly cartoonish and tedious. It would also seem that this film is the least successful when compared to the other “Spy Kids” movies, according to one critic.

However, the film is lauded in one area–being a pacifier for kids who want to go to the movies on the weekend.

I’ve said what the critics thing of this film, but what do you, the regular movie-goer, think about the film? Do you think it is as big of a time-waster as people are making it out to be? Did you happen to appreciate the added sensory element? Or, do you think this fourth installment in the “Spy Kids” storyline was one that didn’t need to be made? Give us your opinions on this movie in the comments section below.
