The minds behind the Texas football series ‘Friday Night Lights’ have plans to reunite. According to Variety, Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey, both executive producers from the drama series, and co-executive producer Liz Heldens, are all teaming up once again to work on a new western series for the NBC Network and Universal Media Studios. The show would reportedly be told through a female point of view, and is much in need since westerns in TV Land are few and far between. Excited about the trio penning a script, NBC’s chairman of entertainment, Robert Greenblatt “is said to be keen on trying to revive the genre if the right project comes along,” Variety stated.

Currently Peter Berg has said he is working on a script for a Friday Night Lights movie, as well as juggling his work on NBC’s upcoming series ‘Prime Suspect’, and putting the finishing touches on his ‘Battleship’ movie. FNL’s former producer Sarah Aubrey has been working on the upcoming 2013 movie ‘Lone Survivor’. Since leaving FNL, Liz Heldens has been wrapped up with both TV series’ ‘Love Bites’ and the medical drama ‘Mercy’.

Will a western from Berg, Aubrey and Heldens get the green light? Let us know what you think of the FNL team back together again.
