The nominees for the 2011 Spike TV Scream Awards have been announced!

According to the press release, movies “X-Men: First Class” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows–Part 2” have received 14 nominations each and will battle for many of the awards. “X-Men: First Class” is up for “Best Director” and “Best Fantasy Movie,” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” is up for “Best Director” as well as ‘The Ultimate Scream” and “Best Scream-Play.” Other movies nominated include “Captain America: The First Avenger”, receiving 11 nominations, and “Thor”, receiving nine nominations. Television shows “Game of Thrones” and “True Blood” have both garnered seven nominations; “The Walking Dead” have received six.

The Spike TV Scream Awards will be taped Saturday, October 15 and will air Tuesday, October 18 at 9 p.m. -11 p.m. ET/PT.
