Summit Entertainment has confirmed the release date for ‘Step Up 4Ever’ will be August 10, 2012, Coming Soon is reporting. The studio has also released an official synopsis for the third sequel in the successful dance franchise, which is being directed by Scott Speer. The dance/romance film will be shot in 3D, and is expected to begin filming later this month.
Former ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ contestant Kathryn McCormick will make her acting debut as Emily, the daughter of a wealthy businessman, in ‘Step Up 4Ever.’ Emily arrives in Miami, with the hope of becoming a professional dancer. But Emily soon falls in love with Sean, who leads a dance crew in elaborate, cutting-edge flash mobs. The crew, called the MOB, hopes to win a contest for a major sponsorship, but Emily’s father threatens to develop the MOB’s historic neighborhood. Emily bands together with Sean to help save the MOB and it’s community.
