If you’ve been a bridesmaid, have you ever wished there was a day dedicated to celebrating the toil you have had to put up with? Well, September 20 has been declared by Universal Studios Home Entertainment and NBCUniversal Digital Distribution as National Bridesmaids Day, and what better way to celebrate National Bridesmaid’s Day than with the release of “Bridesmaids”!

According to The Knot.com, each wedding has, on average, four bridesmaids, meaning that each year, about 10 million women become bridesmaids.

Julie Bonne, Associate Brand Manager of [yellow tail] wines said bridesmaids are essential to the harmony of a wedding. “When you think about it, bridesmaids are the backbone of social harmony,” she said. “Behind every happy marriage is at least one bridesmaid, who may have endured questionable fashion statements, a hysterical bride and bachelorette planning chaos – all for the love of a dear friend and the institution of marriage. It’s only fitting that they have their day, and [yellow tail] wines is proud to toast them.”

National Bridesmaids Day will be celebrated in NYC, where guests can bring their old bridesmaids dresses to donate to The Glass Slipper Project, which distributes formal wear to girls in need during Prom season. Also, you can enter to win an all-expense-paid trip for two to Hollywood, California to enjoy a “star for a day” experience at [yellow tail]’s Facebook page. If you forward the Facebook link to your friend, she can be entered for a second chance to win. Also available on Facebook is a downloadable party pack and exclusive, behind-the-scenes content from the film.
