One of the defining moments of the Cold War was President Kennedy’s “Ich Bin Ein Berliner” speech, which he gave in support of West Germany after Communist East Germany erected the Berlin Wall to stop movement between the two parts. Incredibly, one Pan Am stewardess remembers the speech well–she was in Germany when Kennedy gave it.

The stewardess talks about her experiences in the next part of ABC’s web series “The Real Stewardesses of Pan Am,” which highlights the incredible lives of the former stewardesses of the famous airline. You can watch the video either http://beta.abc.go.com/shows/pan-am/real-stewardesses/part-4 at ABC or below the post.

Also, make sure to watch this week’s episode of “Pan Am” on ABC at 10/9c, which does involve the stewardesses being in Berlin during the time of the Kennedy speech.

“Pan Am” is a drama on ABC that tells the lives of four stewardesses as they live the jet-set life while dealing with familial and social issues. The show stars Christina Ricci, Margot Robbie, Michael Mosely, Karine Vanasse, Kelli Garner, Mike Vogel and Annabelle Wallis.
