One of the iconic parts of Halloween is the Haunted House. Haunted houses can either be deceiving or forthright in appearance, but one element they always have is that they contain the spirits of the dead who are either gentle, lost souls or terrorizing demons. Another element about haunted houses is that they always make great centerpieces for films. ShockYa has put together a list of the top 10 haunted house movies.
#1 “Poltergeist”–The 1982 Steven Spielberg film is a classic for many reasons, but one of the main reasons its become such a classic is because the relatively new house the Freeling family lived in–along with the other developments in the neighborhood–was built directly on top of a sprawling graveyard, with most of the disturbed spirits residing right on the Freeling property. The film shows that even new houses can be as haunted as 100-year-old ones.
