I think everyone thought even though “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” had come and gone, they’d still be able to pick up their copies of any one of the “Harry Potter” films from their local movie store. Warner Bros. is basically telling everyone to think again, since after December 29, the films will be gone from the shelves for good.

According to Entertainment Weekly, there will be no “Harry Potter” films shipped to stores. This includes the humongous “Harry Potter: The Complete 8-Film Collection. According to the site, WB might be trying to make a move like Disney, who has put into place a lucrative home entertainment model which allows for Disney’s titles to be released on a limited time basis before they are put back in the vault, making Disney one of the cruelest mistresses there is for home video buyers. Apparently, WB wants to be a cruel mistress as well.

However, there’s one thing they aren’t being cruel about; WB will not have their “no shipment” rule extended to VOD and Electronic Sell-Through. Games are also not included. Basically, if you buy your films digitally, you have nothing to worry about.

What do you think about the lockdown WB will soon be implementing? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
