Kaley Cuoco has been hired to host the 2012 People’s Choice Awards, which are scheduled to air on January 11, Deadline is reporting. ‘The Big Bang Theory’ star, who also hosted this year’s Teen Choice Awards in August, will replace Queen Latifah. The ‘Ice Age: Continental Drift’ star hosted the awards show, for which award recipients are voted for by the general public, for the past five years.

CBS’ Executive Vice President for specials, Jack Sussman, said Cuoco has chosen to succeed Queen Latifah because she’s “sexy, funny and smart-everything you want in a host-everything you get to see each week on ‘The Big Bang Theory.'” The CBS series is also the reigning People’s Choice Award winner for Favorite TV Comedy.
