Queen Latifah is soon going to be a part of the daytime talk show game again! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Latifah will star as the host of a new daytime talk show that will air in 2013. Her production company, Flavor Unit will produce along with Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment. Both companies will be working with Sony Pictures Television. This show would be Latifah’s latest daytime show since her first stint in daytime television in 1999, “The Queen Latifah Show.”

According to the article, Overbrook’s Miguel Melendez and Flavor Unit co-founder Shakim Compere helped secure the deal, and both Melendez and Compere will be executive producers of the upcoming show. Also serving as producers are Overbrook’s James Lassiter, Jada Pinkeet Smith and Will Smith as well as Latifah herself.

Compere said how the two companies have wanted to collaborate on a project for a long time, and Melendez also stated that Overbrook has “known and admired Latifah for over 20 years: dating back to our music days, to her first television role on ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,’ and years later when she worked with Jada on the film ‘Set it Off.'”
