Entertainment Weekly is reporting that an animated Looney Tunes short will play before “Happy Feet Two.” Of course, it’s always neat to hear that an animated short will be in theaters, but this one is extra special, especially if you’re a big animation fan.

According to the site, the short, “I Tawt I Taw A Puddy Tat” is based on the children’s record of the same name, meaning that the short will have the voice of the late legendary voice actor Mel Blanc as Sylvester the Cat and Tweety Bird. Also awesome–June Foray, another voice acting legend, will lend her voice talents to Granny, the old woman that owns both Tweety and Sylvester.

The short is CG-animated, which actually isn’t all that bad, if you look at it from a nostalgic point-of-view; the short has a “Space Jam” feel to it in terms of animation, even though “Space Jam” had 2D characters. But even for those who haven’t watched “Space Jam” and/or have issues with 3D animation, I think it’s well done in the short.

Entertainment Weekly has a clip of the short, which you can watch here. What do you think about the new short? Are you excited to hear Blanc’s voice again after all this time? Give your opinions in the comments section below.
