I’m not a big fan of football itself, but I’m a fan of the Super Bowl Halftime Show. That’s all the Super Bowl means to me. In my personal opinion, the recent halftime shows have been lacking or somehow less than what they should be. I think with the booking of a certain Material Girl for next year, the Halftime Show is going to be quite awesome.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Madonna has been confirmed as the performer for the auspicious occasion. According to the site, she will collaborate with Cirque Du Soleil and Jamie King. It already sounds like a better show than last year’s which had the Black Eyed Peas to headline.

I for one am excited about the prospects for next year’s halftime show. Maybe I’m just a connoisseur of Super Bowl entertainment, but I think this is the year I’ll get Tina Turner-esque entertainment (I’ve been waiting for Tina Turner-esque entertainment ever since she performed at the Super Bowl in 2000. Also awesome: Prince performing in 2007.)

What do you think about Madonna performing at the Super Bowl? Who else would you want to perform at the Super Bowl? Give your opinions on these important questions in the comments section below.
