His comeback is being heralded everywhere. He was able to bring the whole gang back together to make us smile and shed tears of joy (well, at least this guy) once again. He is one of the most iconic stars of all-time. Ladies and gentlemen…Kermit the Frog!

Kermit was kind enough to answer a few of my questions last week, despite his demanding schedule – and Miss Piggy – coming off the success of the recently released flick, “The Muppets.” This is not the most in-depth chat yours truly have ever done (more like a convo on a red-carpet actually), but the frog did give us a few tidbits about his lifestyle. And he personally sent over a clip of his favorite karaoke moment (that’s right, I have Kermit’s email):

Q: Do you have an iPhone or iPad to help manage your hectic schedule? How are you doing with the new technology?

I do have an iPhone and an iPad and a GPS that let’s Miss Piggy keep track of me anywhere anytime. I love new technology, but as a frog I have to make sure it’s waterproof or….pffffft!

Q: We always see you spend quality time with Miss Piggy and Fozzie, but what would a night out be like with Scooter, Lew Zealand, Dr. Teeth, or even Gonzo?

Oh, we all hang out together. It’s just that Miss Piggy tends to dominate the evening – and everything else, come to think of it. Fozzie and I go to a lot of comedy clubs. Open mic nights. He loves to try out new material…or at least old material that’s new to him. As for Scooter, he’s big on organizing walking tours of historic sites. Last week, he and I took a stroll along “Birthplaces of Famous People named Zeke” It wasn’t a big tour, but we had fun….Lew pretty much has a one-fish focus. He and I go to the Boomerang Fish Throwing Range and practice. It’s fun…but I usually give up after about three hours. When I hang out with Dr. Teeth, it’s always at some honky tonk or music roadhouse where some obscure band is playing. We’ve made some great musical discoveries this way. How do you think Bobby Benson & His Baby Band got their start? And with Gonzo, you never know what’s going to happen next…and you usually can’t figure it out even after it’s happened.

Q: Since we see & hear Waldorf and Statler always making sarcastic remarks throughout your movies, have you ever given them a piece of your mind or is it all in good fun?

We don’t mind their heckling. We’re just glad they come to every show.

Q: You have done a ton of duets with an assortment of celebs over the years. Would you consider doing one with, say, Axl Rose – lead singer of Guns ‘n’ Roses?

I’ve done duets with everybody from Tony Bennett and Don Henley to Weezer and OK Go, it would be great to sing with Axl. Does he sing in the key of “frog”?

Q: Do you like karaoke? If so, what is your favorite song to belt out? Is there a specific karaoke memory that you have?

I love karaoke. I try going incognito to karaoke nights, but for some reason folks usually figure out it’s me. I wonder why? Naturally, I like to do songs I’m known for (e.g. “Being Green” and “Rainbow Connection”) but it’s always fun to do a little “Stairway to Heaven” now and again. We also went as a group and did “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Check it out…
