Every year is a big year for properties–the characters and stories studios rely on to bring in the big crowds–and 2012’s no exception. Be prepared for the onslaught of the Property Movie–the Marvel comic book superheroes assemble, DC’s Batman makes a final appearance, and our favorite Men in Black are coming back, as well as the Hobbits and Dr. Seuss’s fanciful characters. Here are our top ten must-see comic book films for the next year:
#1 “Dark Knight Rises” (July 20): Everyone’s favorite neighborhood bat is back and, according to Christopher Nolan, this is the DC Comics’ Caped Crusader’s final appearance. This is probably the most “Nolan” of the Nolan-verse “Batman films”–not only is the recurring cast coming back, but “Inception” stars Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy star as major players.

What property movie are you looking forward to seeing? Yes, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” isn’t in the list, but I listed it in one of the recent Top 10 lists for 2012, and I have to give some other films a chance to have their moment in the sun!
