The first official image and trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ has been released. The ensemble film, which is set to be released on May 11, 2012, in time for Mother’s Day, is inspired by the New York Times bestselling book of the same name.

The trailer showcases the struggles and challenges of five couples who are adjusting to pregnancy and parenthood. TV fitness guru Jules, played by Cameron Diaz, and her husband, dance show star Evan, portrayed by Matthew Morrison, discover their celebrity lifestyle doesn’t work well with the surprise high demands of parenthood. Author Wendy, played by Elizabeth Banks, gets a taste of her own militant mommy advice when pregnancy hormones overcome her body. Her husband, Gary, portrayed by Ben Falcone, struggling not to compete with his father, who’s expecting twins with his young wife, Skyler, played by Brooklyn Decker.

Photographer Holly, portrayed by Jennifer Lopez, is getting ready to travel the world to adopt a child, but her husband Alex, played by Rodrigo Santoro, is nervous about the process. He tries to come to terms with the adoption by attending a support group, where new fathers get to explain how parenthood really is. Meanwhile, the surprise hook-up between rival food truck chefs Rosie, portrayed by Anna Kendrick, and Marco, played by Chace Crawford, results in a surprise pregnancy.
