Tons of people said that Andy Serkis should be nominated (and win) the award for Best Actor at the upcoming Academy Awards after seeing his (and WETA Digital’s) mind-blowing work in giving life to the CGI chimpanzee Caesar in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.” Well, this sentiment has been picking up team ever since the film was released, and now it’s reaching a fever pitch. One of the ways that frenzy is being shown is in the form of a Facebook group.

The official Facebook page for “Rise” shared the link to the Facebook community page called “Oscar for Andy Serkis as Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes.”

The purpose of the page is evident enough; the page’s about section states, ”
Like and Share if you think Andy Serkis/Weta deserve an Oscar nomination for his performance as Caesar in Rise of the Planet of the Apes! Follow on Twitter @OscarForAndy“.

So if you are among the hoard of people that believe Serkis and WETA should get a nom, do what the community states and show your support.

If you’re of the camp that believes Serkis and WETA deserves an Oscar, tell us why you think so. If you don’t, tell us about that, too. Spark debate!
