I’m loving the casting news coming out about the “Star Trek” sequel. First Noel Clarke, next Benedict Cumberbatch (who is, according to benedictcumberbatch.co.uk, playing a villain that is probably not going to be a villain previously associated with the franchise–could the rumors be right in that he’s playing Q after all?), and now Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Nazneen Contractor from “24” has been added to the casting roster.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Contractor will play the wife of Clarke’s character. However, we still don’t know who Clarke is playing aside from someone who is being described as “a family man with a wife and young daughter.”

Another actor joining the cast is, according to scifmafia.com, Joseph Gatt, who you might not have recognized under the makeup and CG when he was playing the Frost Giant Gundroth in “Thor.” According to the site, it is speculated that Gatt might play the henchman to Cumberbatch’s villain. (I don’t think Q had henchmen, so I guess Q is a null suggestion, after all. Is the villain a Klingon, then?)

There are just so many questions with this sequel, and I’m sure the answers will be amazing.

Also joining the cast are Peter Weller and Alice Eve. The film will also see the return of original cast members, which include Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, John Cho and Simon Pegg.
