The first official trailer for ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2’ may appear in theaters before ‘The Hunger Games,’ Breaking Dawn Movie is reporting. Now that Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment have officially merged, the two studios have been cross-promoting projects that each began before they joined together. The ‘Breaking Dawn-Part 2′ trailer may debut with the sci-fi action drama, as both are based on book series that appeal to the young adult audience, and are the studios’ biggest franchises.

Even though ‘The Hunger Games’ is scheduled to hit theaters on March 23, 2012, and ‘Breaking Dawn-Part 2’ will be released on November 16, Summit can already release a trailer for the latter, as filming was completed in April 2011. It was filmed consecutively with ‘Breaking Dawn-Part 1,’ whose first teaser-trailer debuted at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, with a full-length trailer following in September.

The rumors come after reports circulated that the first ‘Breaking Dawn-Part 2’ teaser would debut at the 2012 People’s Choice Awards. Those rumors proved to be false, as Lionsgate reportedly wants to market ‘The Hunger Games’ to fans of ‘The Twilight Saga’ who haven’t yet discovered the former series.

‘The Hunger Games’ trailer was even shown with many screenings of ‘Breaking Dawn-Part 1’ when it hit theaters in November 2011, before the Lionsgate-Summit merger became official. Now that the merger is complete, the two studios are expected to cross-promote numerous projects; for example, ‘The Hunger Games’ actor Alexander Ludwig hit the red carpet for Summit’s new thriller, ‘Man on a Ledge.’
