Forget talk of The hangover 3, actor and writer Michael Showalter has confirmed that there will be a sequel coming soon of the 2001 comedy ‘Wet Hot American Summer’ that was directed by David Wain. Showalter broke the news on the Bravo TV series ‘Watch What Happens’ this past Wednesday night. Replying to the big question of whether or not a second installment was in the works from cult followers of the film, he answered – “absolutely yes. One hundred percent yes. The whole gang. Everyone’s back. We’re doing it.”

Wet Hot American Summer first hit theaters over ten years ago, and was a funny comedy that followed a slew of characters on the last day of summer at a Jewish camp. The big star lineup featured some well known stars, who at the time were just starting out. On board was Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Elizabeth Banks, Michael Showalter, Janeane Garofalo, Paul Rudd, Molly Sharon, Christopher Meloni, David Hyde Pierce, Michael Ian Black, and A.D. Miles. If the whole cast and crew is in fact returning, the Wet Hot American Summer sequel should be hilarious and the next best R-rated comedy. More news regarding the flick should be on the way, in the meantime check out the original film trailer below.
