A conversation with Malika Haqq, Khloe Kardashian’s best friend and star of E!’s “Khloe and Lamar,” reveals how nice and considerate of a person she is. It also reveals just how close Kardashian is to Haqq and how devoted Kardashian is to her husband, NBA player Lamar Odom.
“We are a fun-loving group,” she said. “We spend a lot of our time together. Khloe and I are very close.” When Odom was traded from the LA Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks last year, Haqq provided support for Kardashian. “It was very difficult for her,” she said. “Being uprooted is very difficult. I was there for her to lean on.” Both Kardashian’s relationships to Haqq and Odom helped her get through the move. “Khloe and Lamar are a very strong couple,” said Haqq.
Haqq’s considerate nature can also be seen in the amount of charity work she does for children with Down’s Syndrome. “I have a very soft spot for them,” she said. “I’m soft on them, I really am.” She said that to see the individuals who have the disease go on to have productive lives show the rest of us to be grateful for what we have. “Sometimes we don’t realize how blessed we really are,” she said.”
When it comes to “Khloe and Lamar,” Haqq states that fans of the show will be pleased with the new season. “[The season] is gonna be exciting,” she said. “It’s gonna be an interesting journey. A lot of laughs, a lot of cries, changes, a lot of ups and downs. It’s great for people to tune in and see how normal people live their lives.”
The second season of “Khloe and Lamar” will premiere on E! Sunday, Feb. 19 at 10 p.m. ET/9 CT.
