Last weekend was rather crazy, due to the unexpected death of powerhouse singer, Whitney Houston. A lot of things slipped my mind, including recapping last week’s “Pan Am.” So, to make up for it, I’ll recap both episodes 13 and 14 together in this post.

Last week’s episode, “Romance Languages,” not only turned up the “crazy” dial, but was also supposed to be aired earlier in the series. Due to an executive decision, it was moved to later on the season. The reason–the kiss that precocious kid Charlie gives Colette. That was deemed a little too racy, I imagine, but how does playing the episode later on help? The episode still got played, so whatever. Besides, Colette obviously wasn’t aroused by it–it’s not like the episode was pedophilic in any way.

Anyway, Colette helps Charlie cope with growing pains and Dean faces off one final time against Ginny. Ginny turned out to be a lot crazier than expected, smashing her head against a glass window simply to keep Dean by her side. However, Colette talks her down from the figurative rafters and Dean tells the Pan Am exec that he’s had the affair. Somehow he tries to act like he’s got the high ground after showing he’s been acting below the standards of a Pan Am captain, but things aren’t finished for him yet.

Laura also deals with being a virgin. At first, she thinks that she’s still acting like a kid, but Kate tells her that being “untouched,” if you will, is A-OK.

Now for the finale, “1964.” Those things I talked about that Dean wasn’t finished with came back up again–Dean has to face the gauntlet for what he did during the Haiti flight (remember? He left a dead body on the tarmac and took a refugee aboard). Dean is almost fired, but Capt. Broyles comes to his rescue, saving his job.

Also, Colette’s new boyfriend, Prince Omar, wants to officially court her. When her past is being investigated by the prince’s officials, it is discovered that Colette’s last name isn’t actually Valois and her parents weren’t actually French resistance members–they were Jewish people who were killed in a concentration camp. She also discovered that she has a brother. For some reason, the courtship is broken off (why? Omar was the best!), but since it is broken off, Colette decides to go in search of her brother.

Meanwhile, Kate is battling Anderson, who we find out is a counter-agent. The battle brings Kate and Richard closer together. I smell a romance brewing.

Laura also finds out that Ted loves her over his fiancĂ©e, the increasingly-erratic Amanda’ who even asked Laura to be Ted’s mistress. However, the wedding, which Ted had called off, is back on, since Amanda had revealed she is pregnant with Ted’s child.

Will this be the series finale? The ratings haven’t been that good, so we’ll have to see. But what did you think of the finale? Give your opinions below.
