Having dabbled in art (if you know who I am in real life, you’ll know “dabbled” is an understatement), I realize how tough it is not only to sculpt a figure out of clay, but to create a character using 3D software.

Artist samar_vijay at cghub.com has produced this tremendous art featuring a fully rendered 3D version of Bane. Bane doesn’t have any flesh tones, but the gray really reveals all of the detailing that it took to create this crazy awesome fan art. According to IMDB.com, the synopsis for “The Dark Knight Rises” is:

“Eight years after the events of ‘The Dark Knight,’ the terrorist leader Bane arrives in Gotham City, pushing it and its police force to their limits, forcing its former hero Batman to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent’s crimes.”

The film, starring Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Liam Neeson, will be in theaters July 20.
