TweetRoast, the new interactive social media website that delivers real-time, Tweet-based roasts of pop culture and celebrities, will launch its inaugural event on Sunday, February 26, 2012. The website will target the 84th Academy Awards as the ceremony airs on ABC. Comedy websites The Laugh Button and Laughspin will sponsor the first event of TweetRoast, which was created by Fireman Creative.

TweetRoast allows high profile comedians to Tweet their comments in a digital dais, which serve as an uncensored Roast. Fans can track the comedians’ jokes in real time, and can Tweet their best jokes by using the hastag #TweetRoast. The amateur roaster with the funniest comments will participate in the official Dais for the next TweetRoast.

Comedians participating in the inaugural roast include Robert Kelly, Jim Norton, Bonnie McFarlane, Morgan Murphy, Opie & Anthony, Rich Vos, Annie Lederman, Pete Dominick and Fred Stoller. The roast will take place between 7 and 11:30pm EST.
